Product Description

Product Overview:
MITSU Polyglactin 910 is a mid-term absorbable, braided, and coated synthetic suture made from a copolymer of 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. It degrades through hydrolysis, ensuring predictable and reliable absorption.

Composition and Coating:

MITSU™ sutures are made from poly(glycolide-co-l-lactide), coated with a blend of glycolide, lactide, and calcium stearate. The copolymer formula is (C2H2O2)m (C3H4O2)n (C36H70O4Ca), providing non-pyrogenic properties.

Variety:
Available in both dyed (D&C Violet No. 2) and undyed forms, these sutures come in a wide range of sizes and lengths, with stainless steel needles in various types and dimensions. MITSU™ meets USP and European Pharmacopeia standards for absorbable, sterile braided sutures.

Performance:
MITSU polyglactin 910 sutures are designed to minimize tissue inflammation, promote fibrous tissue growth, and gradually lose tensile strength through absorption. They retain 75% tensile strength for 14 days, 40-50% for 21 days, and 24% for 28 days. Complete absorption typically occurs between 56 to 75 days.

Key Features:

  • High-quality material for consistent performance and reliability.
  • Sharp needles for smooth and effortless penetration during surgery.
  • Excellent knot security, ensuring strong tissue approximation.
  • Minimal tissue reactivity for enhanced healing and reduced scarring.
  • Easy handling and flexibility during suturing due to the braided structure.
  • Predictable absorption rate, suitable for most surgical procedures.
  • Sterile packaging ensuring product integrity and safety.

Specifications:

  • Composition: Poly(glycolide/L-Lactide)
  • Structure: Braided, multifilament
  • Sizes: Dyed (USP 8/0 - USP 2), Undyed (USP 6/0 - USP 2)
  • Suture Lengths: 35-180 cm
  • Needle Dimensions: 9 mm to 60 mm

Sterilization:

Sterilize MITSU™ sutures with ethylene oxide (EtO). Do not re-sterilize or use if the package is damaged or opened.

Contraindications:
Not recommended for applications requiring long-term tissue approximation under high stress.

Storage:

Store MITSU™ sutures between 15°C and 30°C, away from moisture, direct sunlight, dust, extreme temperatures, and humidity. Do not use after the expiration date.
