Product Description

MIRUS Skin Stapler is intended for single-use only. Reusing it can lead to cross-contamination or infection, making it essential to dispose of after one patient. Typically, the MIRUS Skin Stapler is used for routine wound closure at the end of a surgical procedure.

Directions for using the MIRUS Skin Stapler:

  1. Approximate the tissue with the help of forceps. Two forceps can be used to keep equal portions of tissue on either side of the wound. Draw the forceps together until the tissue edges are set and extended. Hold the tissue tightly against the stapler jaws for the most controlled outcome.
  2. To secure the staple, use forceps to grip and present more tissue on each edge. One forceps can also be used to approximate the tissue by capturing a ridge of centered tissue from all sides of the wound, then closing it until the edges are set.
  3. Gently position the stapler jaws next to the forceps on the skin. Align the staple positioning arrow with the wound's center. The stapler handle should be held at a 35° angle to the skin surface.
  4. The stapler can be placed gently on the skin or 1-2 mm above it, depending on the required distance between the staple and the tissue. Slowly depress the handle and press the button.
  5. Continue depressing the handle until a "click" sound is heard, indicating the staple is set. The design of the MIRUS Surgical Stapler ensures visibility and proper positioning.
  6. After each staple, lift the stapler straight up. The staples release freely without manual adjustments.
  7. Repeat steps 1-6, placing each staple about 1/4 inch apart until the wound is closed. Each compression of the stapler handle sets one staple, which binds the wound tissue precisely.
