Indications

Implantable reinforcing felt is designed for cardiovascular surgery as well as for other surgical disciplines where suturing of delicate tissue, that could be subject to suture cutting through, is necessary. 

In general surgery, it can be used, for example, in suturing parenchymatous organs. In vascular surgery, it can be used to reinforce anastomosis. In cardiac surgery, Cortex may be advantageously used as a pad for suturing the left ventricle after resection of a bulge, for reinforcing the fragile aortic wall or other large vessels during their acute dissection, or as a reinforcing small pad under individual sutures when stopping bleeding from any site on the heart or large vessels.   

A polyester suture pad for suturing delicate tissues that can be used in general surgery, cardiac surgery, and vascular surgery.
